In the spirit of presidential vehicle investigation, I came across this presidential SUV, which apparently used to trail President Bush's motorcade. Its not NEW news, but worth mentioning nonetheless, if nothing more than to give you an opportunity to see hot death emanating from the barrel of a mounted chaingun. I hate war, violence, and the like, but man are machine guns cool. Watch the video here and witness molten destruction. This is something straight out of G.I. Joe.

My wife and I recently made a trip over to
Dubai, UAE, to visit some friends and learn about the city. Suffice it to say, everything you've ever heard about the place does not begin to describe how ridiculous it is over there. By ridiculous I am referring to the sheer size of not just one project, but the seemingly hundreds of massive building extravaganzas going on all over the city. If you go there, which I would recommend if you can scrape up the change, make sure to stop by the
Mall of the Emirates (which is no longer the largest mall there because they are always outdoing themselves) and check out
Ski Dubai. It is real. Its not something from Robotech (if you haven't read the books, which doubtless you haven't, that last comment just went way over your head; and now that I think about it, it may not make sense even if you had). Anyways, here are a couple of pictures of some of the cars outside the mall. This is just a smattering. This is a bit different than what would be see outside of the
Golden Triangle Mall in my hometown of
Denton, TX.

If you are into car collecting and celebrities, or either, you probably know that Jay Leno is a huge car collector. We're not talking about the kind of car collector your grand daddy was, with a couple of antiques sitting in the workshop. We're talking about a whole other level. But if this is your thing, then this
website will interest you. Of course if you are really into it, you will have heard of it already. Either way, enjoy the heck out of it.

So last week I raved about the Green Tesla roadster and complained about how the Chevy Volt has been slow to market. Then today, right in my own backyard, I read that the Volt was debuted exclusively to the media at the Texas Motor Speedway.
Touting an availability date of 2010 and (I'm guessing here) more affordability and practicality for the average consumer than the Tesla, the plug-in coupe can reportedly go zero to 60 mph in nine seconds, with a top speed of 100 mph.
NASCAR fans had mixed reviews, but most voiced their opinion that the move away from gas guzzling cars is the right way to go.
Go, innovation, go!

Wow, do I love the new high-end electric roadster - the Tesla. I've been hearing a lot about it lately. I love cool cars, and I love green cars, but the thing that I love most about the Tesla is that it's real. It's been produced. You can order one right now.
I know other car companies, especially General Motors, are working on improving fuel-cell technology but the process seems so painfully slow. I'm sure they are working smart, and hard, and will ultimately end up with great products that will change how we all live, work and drive. But Tesla scores on the cool factor of getting something to market now.

While it's true that many lenders these days are seen as the bad guys, there is - in fact - a lender whose programs are creating satisfied customers and helping them personally. RoadLoans has always had many positive testimonials, but a recent one is especially relevant because it illustrates how a simple thing like an auto loan can make a difference in the quality of someone's life.
Greg was driving 160 miles a day in his pickup truck to travel to and from his job. At around 17 miles per gallon, that translated into a monthly gas bill of about $800.
"I really needed to get out of my truck and get a better fuel economy car," he recalls. "But I couldn't get financed." He was turned down at every dealership he visited because of his credit situation. Then he found RoadLoans.
"I received an e-mail approval from RoadLoans...I was able to negotiate as a cash customer. I purchased a brand new Nissan Sentra that gets 33 mpg on the highway. RoadLoans not only saved me $400 a month on gas, but they also helped me get a new car with a warranty and no worries of breaking down."
If you are feeling the pinch of high gas prices and are thinking about finding a more fuel-friendly vehicle, visit RoadLoans and see what they can do for you.

If your idea of fun is racing down a picturesque road at lightening speed in a car that is movie-worthy, well...your wait is over. For the bargain price of $5,000 and a trip to the New Jersey Motorsports Park, you can test your skill behind the wheel of, say, the
Ferrari F430 or a
Lamborghini Gallardo. Not your style? How about a
Mercedes CLK63 AMG (top speed: 189 mph) or an
Aston Martin DB89?
The creators of SuperCar Life offer a full-day package that pampers the car enthusiast with gourmet meals at the track and educational sessions designed to improve your driving skill. And then there's the driving. It's fun. And fast. And a bit frightening. Did we mention fast? People that have done this say it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience to ride in a dream car.
The folks at RoadLoans also have a record of helping people get into their dream cars. OK, so maybe not Lamborghinis or Aston Martins, but cars that would make any owner proud. Take Brian and Joni from St. Petersburg, Fla. They always wanted a BMW, but never imagined they would own one until they found RoadLoans.
"I always wanted a BMW convertible. RoadLoans made my dream come true," said Joni. "With the fast approval process, friendly staff and quick turnaround on my RoadLoans check, all I had to do was negotiate my price with the car dealership and sign my check. Thank you, RoadLoans!"
